The Joy of Breathing
Do you ever stop and thank yourself for the amazing tool that you have within you? The joy you can create by simply breathing is astonishing. Do me (and yourself a favor), take a moment to turn your attention inward, closing your eyes if that feels safe. Grounding your feet flat on the earth or floor beneath you. Take one slow deep breath through the nose and exhale open mouth. Sigh it out, ahhhhhh. Do you feel your shoulders release, your stomach unravel the knots, your nervous system is starting to shift from go mode to a relaxed state? Continue on repeat as many times as you need to center yourself. The beauty of this practice is you always have it available to you. Throughout the holiday season or whenever you are in need of a pause, you can come back to your breath and take a moment to create some space. This is a great way to be fully present, either with yourself or to be fully present with others. Tis the season to give presence as your present.
